Jim Jones
Director, Fuel Tax Recovery Services
At NECS, I'm currently Director – Tax Recovery Services. I began my career at NECS in 2001 as a Field Analyst in Tax Recovery Services. I've spent the previous 22 years focusing on fleet related taxes and, as with all taxes, the regulatory framework is always changing which creates a challenging and rewarding work environment.

To maintain a certified public accounts license in Indiana, I must complete 120 hours of continuing professional education every 3 years. I use the professional education to stay current on developments with tax and accounting rules and regulations. I'm also a member of the Indiana CPA Society, which is a great resource for accounts and tax professionals.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time in nature when the weather is accommodating. My family and I ride motorcycles, go boating, and ride horses together. When the weather is not well suited for outdoor activities, I enjoy working on projects in my shop, which is usually a motorcycle. I also enjoy MotoGP motorcycle racing and cheering on Indiana University athletics.
